Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)

And We Want the Community to Know What We’re Up To!

  • Wild Iris will be proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month at the following local government meetings:
Bishop City Council: Sept. 22, 7pm
Mammoth Lakes Town Council: Oct. 1, 6pm
Inyo County Board of Supervisors: Oct. 7, 9am
Mono County Board of Supervisors: Oct. 7, 9 am

  • We’ll be answering YOUR questions throughout the month. Watch our short Q&A video series!

  • Join us for some smoked meat goodness at the Fall Fundraiser Dinner, catered by the Pickled Pellet Heads. You can purchase tickets or drool over the idea of bacon-wrapped meatloaf HERE.

  • Come watch some youth soccer and visit Wild Iris employees who will be manning the Snack Shack in Shady Rest Park in Mammoth on Saturday, Oct. 18. The Mammoth Lakes Women’s Club is graciously donating a percentage of the proceeds of the day back to Wild Iris in honor of DVAM.

  • Interested in learning more about Domestic Violence, but don’t have time to take the whole state certification course? We’ll be hosting a Domestic Violence 101 Seminar in each county. Join us at the Mammoth Lakes office on Oct. 7 from 3-5pm or the Bishop office on Oct. 9 from 2:30-4:30pm to learn the basics about the dynamics of violent relationships, red flags of abuse, and what you can do to help, and more. You can find out more or register HERE.
